We are Mark and Pip, a 56 and 50 year old couple who, a few months ago, had no plans to take off on a period of travel for 6 months but an opportunity presented itself and while the UK economy bumps along, we grabbed the bull by the horns. We don’t have children which made it easier but ultimately life is for living and how do we know how much time each of us has, so why not?
The plan was to write a travel diary for our own purposes but then we thought maybe it might be interesting for others who are facing change in their life to hear some stories and info about the impact of making an unexpected decision.
Planning was just the flight to Bangkok and the first 4 nights in a hotel. Everything else, accommodation, trips and flights, will be booked as we decide things, sometimes the same day, as technology has made things so easy compared to the old days.

Getting started on the career ladder is harder for young people than ever, so if anyone in our network have sons, daughters or close family friends travelling, we would be happy to use our combined 50 years recruitment experience to offer advice and guidance to them so that they can maximise their travelling experience when returning home to develop their careers.
